When Do You Require Fluoride Treatment?

  • Signs Of Deep Pits Or Fissures On Teeth’s Chewing Surfaces
  • History Of Dental Decay
  • Exposed And Sensitive Root Surfaces
  • Poor Oral Hygiene Habits
  • Excessive Intake Of Sugar And Carbohydrates
  • Inadequate Exposure To Fluorides
  • Insufficient Saliva Flow Due To Illness, Treatments Or Medications

How Does Fluoride Treatment Work?

There are two types of fluoride treatment that we currently offer...

Topical Fluoride:

Topical fluoride strengthens fully erupted teeth by seeping into the outer surface of the enamel. This helps in preventing tooth decay by increasing resistance to bacteria. We recommend and professionally administer fluoride to children and adults twice a year during dental check-ups. We use a special fluoride treatment that stays on the teeth longer than over-the-counter products.

Systemic Fluoride:

This type of fluoride helps in strengthening fully erupted teeth, as well as those that are developing under the gums. For infants, we advise the use of fluoride supplements in the form of drops or gels, while tablets are best suited for children and teenagers. We administer fluoride supplements very carefully and treatment is monitored regularly.
